About Greg

As EVP and Chief Medical Officer, Greg is responsible for supporting our clinical data and analytics strategy and programs. He promotes the rigor and effectiveness of Symphony Health services from a scientific perspective and develops our ongoing clinical and academic relationships. He serves as our liaison to various industry, scientific and medical organizations.

Greg’s background includes roles as a practicing emergency medicine physician, professor of medicine at Drexel University, staff member of President George W. Bush’s team, and Chief Medical Officer and Vice President for Health Economics & Outcomes Research at SDI. In addition to previously holding senior management positions at two leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, Dr. Hess most recently served as Chief Medical Officer, Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research at IMS Health. He is board certified in Emergency Medicine with an MD from Albany Medical College of Union University. He also has his MSc in Health Services Research from Erasmus University and an MBA in Health Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
