Although several common treatment options are currently used to care for patients diagnosed with COVID-19, the preferred treatment varies depending on age population. Recent data shows that older patients are more frequently prescribed Dexamethasone—and rate of usage increases as the patient age goes up. However, Azithromycin appears to be the treatment of choice for patients in younger age groups, with the highest rate of usage in patients ranging from 10 to 19 years old.
